A world free of Podoconiosis within our lifetime

APIDO establish “Anti-podo” clubs

320 podo clubs set up Dawro zonal district, Ethiopia

Focusing on school teachers and students, teams from Action on Podoconiosis and Integrated Development Organisation (APIDO) have equipped 25 school directors, 100 teachers and 7800 students with a basic understanding on how to prevent and treat podo. This knowledge plays a pivotal role in messaging the wider society and is key to reducing the burden of stigma and increasing the successful integration of persons with podo and their families into the community. In addition APIDO have initiated therapy in 428 new patients.

“ Stepping out of Neglect”
